About Haig Point Golf Club
Looking for golf homes on Haig Point Golf Club? Discover golf properties located in or near golf course communities in Beaufort, South Carolina. From luxury estates overlooking the greens to comfortable homes within golf communities, there are options to fit a variety of lifestyles and budgets.
To say that life at Haig Point is a bit like paradise is not a stretch. Residents who live on the island have chosen it not only for the excellent 27 holes of golf by Rees Jones, but also because the area is virtually free of noise or air pollution. No vehicles, save for a few that are necessary for community services, are permitted on Daufuskie. If you own a car, you park it at Haig Point's large embarkation point on Hilton Head Island and you take the Haig Point ferry, which runs frequently every day, back and forth.
Daufuskie is an historic island, home to the Gullah Geechee people who were brought over from Africa as slaves to work on the rice and indigo plantations of the Low Country in the Carolinas. Remnants of their former homes, made largely of oyster shells, have been preserved at Haig Point. Developed initially by the International Paper Company, Haig Point is popular among those seeking a peaceful life in retirement as well as those who favor working from home. Hilton Head and Savannah airports are a ferry and short car drive away when it is necessary to travel.
Haig Point always seems to offer a nice selection of homes and lots for sale. Prices for lots start as low as $30,000, townhomes from around $260,000, and single-family homes from just under $700,000. The golf course is highly ranked in South Carolina, and competitors in the annual PGA tour event across the Calibogue Sound at Sea Pines Plantation on Hilton Head ferry over to Haig Point for their practice rounds.
