About Glenmore Country Club
Looking for golf homes on Glenmore Country Club? Discover golf properties located in or near golf course communities in Albemarle, Virginia. From luxury estates overlooking the greens to comfortable homes within golf communities, there are options to fit a variety of lifestyles and budgets.
It is only 25 minutes from Charlottesville, VA, but on the John LaFoy designed golf course at Glenmore, you can feel as if you have been plopped down on a Scottish layout, given the wispy grasses around the bunkers, the gently rolling fairways and glen plaid accessories in the clubhouse and pro shop. Coming up the 18th fairway at sunset, and as you consider your final uphill approach shot of the day, with the large brick clubhouse hulking behind the green, you can almost hear the bagpipes playing.
Glenmore's club members, virtually all of them residents as well, are a harmonious mix of retirees, working couples and young families. Tom Pace -- that is him smiling in the photo at right -- has lived in the Glenmore community for decades and will be happy to share his insights about life there. Many of the homes in Glenmore echo the brick, colonial ethic of the clubhouse and are well removed from the field of play, most of them perched high on the hills above the fairways.
Less than a half hour from Charlottesville and the University of Virginia, Glenmore, which has been a traditional favorite place to live for local professional people and professors who teach at the university, would be an educated place to choose to live.
