Heidi and I moved to Lake Murray from the Midwest and have loved every minute of it. This lake offers amazing recreational opportunities and is home to a wide-array of restaurants, marinas and waterfront neighborhoods. Lake Murray has been named to a number of Top Ten lists and it is truly an incredible place to live. Please keep this in mind, if you are looking to buy a property on Lake Murray, we strongly recommend that you work with a Realtor that specializes in waterfront properties. This is so important because there are a lot of additional challenges that most real estate agents aren't familiar with. Some of those questions could be: Is that particular property in a flood zone, does it require flood insurance, where's the 360 line, or the 363 and what does that mean? Does it have a dock (private or shared) or is it permitted for one? Is it eligible for a boat ramp, does it have lake-fed irrigation or is it on a lake-drawn home water system and on and on. It's such an important purchase, please make sure any Realtor you work with has experience with these properties.
