When the huge Prince Creek community in Murrells Inlet, SC, is fully built out – and it is getting there – it will comprise 3,600 homes. Given that Prince Creek is one of the youngest large communities in the area south of Myrtle Beach, it did not take long for the state highway that runs just outside the gates to be filled with supermarkets, restaurants and convenience stores.
The large brick sign at one of the gates into Prince Creek is clear that a fine golf course lies within, in this case TPC, Myrtle Beach – the TPC standing for Tournament Players Club. The couple dozen TPC golf courses across the nation are known for the challenges they present and their privacy; the TPC beside Prince Creek is one of the few that invites public play. That makes Prince Creek an excellent choice for those seeking a vacation home without the financial obligation of a golf club membership that suits only year-round residents. The course is one of the few on the Grand Strand of Myrtle Beach designed by Tom Fazio, who arguably is America's most prolific golf community course designer. TPC, which once was the site of a regular tour stop on the PGA's senior tour, is not the toughest layout in the TPC portfolio, but it is a fair challenge and always in fine shape.
Because of the Prince Creek community's size, it can offer homes of varying designs, sizes and pricing. Homes for sale generally run from the mid $300s for townhomes and from the mid $400s. Homesites are available from the mid $100s.
